Hemingway In a Funny Way
Comedy Key West presents the first show paying tribute to the funny side of the life and works of Ernest Hemingway. A few blocks down the street from the famed Hemingway House, where he lived and wrote for nine years, and around the corner from his legendary watering hole Sloppy Joe’s, comedian James Scott Patterson takes us on an hourlong tour of Hemingway’s childhood, writing career, adventuring, and, of course, drinking days. The humor ranges from the tragic-comic (it is Ernest Hemingway after all) to the witty, wild, and difficult to believe. The show is a happy hour celebration from 5:30 to 6:30 including a complimentary glass of Hemingway’s favorite red or white wine (Valpolicella or Sancerre, “crackling cold”) with your ticket. Join us for a one of a kind look at one of Key West’s most enduring (and funny) figures.
About the Host: James Scott Patterson is a standup comedian and writer who has performed on Comedy Central, been featured at the prestigious Montreal Comedy festival, and his latest album and comedy special “Superior Design” is available on all major streaming services.

Tony V
Tony V started his stand-up comedy career in 1982 after attending several shows at Boston’s prestigious Comedy Connection. He wandered in one night, quite by accident, looking for a little stress relief from a high pressure job as a case worker at the Somerville Mental Health Center. Tony was working his way toward a Masters degree in social work having graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a B. S. in Psychology. Jeff Shaw
Jeff Shaw is not a manly man. Jeff Shaw is not a girly man. Jeff Shaw is a manly girly man.
Depending on what kind of hair day he’s having, Jeff can be the girliest man at Home Depot or the manliest man at Bed, Bath and Beyond.
Jeff is also an accomplished stand-up comedian whose first Dry Bar Comedy special Manly Girly Man has garnered over 10 million views on Facebook and whose second Dry Bar Comedy special, The High Voice of Reason, was released in September of 2022 to rave reviews.
Jeff is a former linguist for the Army, a former staff writer for American Greetings, a former comedy club manager for Carnival Cruise Line, a former humor columnist for Cleveland's SCENE Magazine and Buffalo's Artvoice, and the author of The Fun Dude's Guide to Cruising: A Humorous Handbook for Taking Your First Cruise and Living to Complain About It, available on Amazon as both a Kindle e-book and paperback.
This former opening act for Michael Bublé’s signature style of stand-up can best be described as “clean and clever comedy with a kick.”
In fact, Jeff’s reputation for destroying a room without having to put a dollar in the swear jar has made him an in-demand corporate and cruise-ship comedian. An event coordinator at Amazon headquarters in Seattle wrote, “Jeff Shaw was hilarious, professional, kind, and easy to work with. I would recommend him to anyone looking for an overall amazing entertainment experience.”
In March of 2020, Jeff beat out thousands of contenders to win a spot for Season 15 of America's Got Talent. Although Jeff was crushed to learn that only snippets of his standing-ovation appearance in Pasadena would go to air due to the pandemic’s impact on AGT’s production schedule, he was thrilled to see his On Tour Records release Jeff with Two F's reach #1 on iTunes and Amazon less than a year later.

James Adomian
James Adomian is a comedian from California, but his impact can truly be considered global or even cosmic. As a voiceover artist he has appeared on a hundred cartoons and a thousand podcasts. As an on-camera (i.e. "real") actor, he has enjoyed some amusing failures and tolerated a few partial successes across television, cinema, and the world wide web. James is one of those performers who plays "deep characters” so people often do not connect that he was "that guy" whom they loved so much from some particular thing.
On the stage he is a living god, an incarnation of Dionysus, meaning he is often drunk and largely available for bookings. He has been to Armenia twice but still can't seem to convince anyone that he is Armenian. James is a proud Aquarius, and he is very, very Aquarian to the point where you would think he's doing a bit when you meet him.
James Adomian is an accomplished actor, noted for his comedic timing in his roles for television shows. Adomian's career began with roles in "Mind of Mencia", "Nick Cannon Presents: Short Circuitz" (MTV) and "Cavemen" (ABC). He also appeared in "Childrens Hospital", "John Oliver's New York Stand-Up Show" (Comedy Central) and "Comedy Bang! Bang!" (IFC). Adomian began his entertainment career acting in films like the comedy sequel "Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay" with John Cho. In the 2010s, Adomian devoted his time to various credits, such as "Gravity Falls" (Disney), "Money From Strangers" (MTV) and "The Burn with Jeff Ross" (Comedy Central). He also worked on "Kroll Show" (Comedy Central), "Maron" (IFC,) and "Stand Up Planet" (Pivot). In the 2010s, Adomian lent his talents to projects like "The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail" (Comedy Central, "TripTank" (Comedy Central) and "BoJack Horseman". His credits also expanded to "The Jim Gaffigan Show" (TV Land), "Hits" and "The Guest List: Live From the Barrel House". Most recently, Adomian appeared in "The UCB Show".
He is best known for his work on Comedy Bang! Bang!, Chapo Trap House, Last Comic Standing, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson where he impersonated President George W. Bush until 2009, and for portraying Bernie Sanders during the 2016 Trump vs. Bernie tour. He voices Talking Ben in the Talking Tom and Friends animated series.

Dave Williamson
After climbing the corporate ladder in his family's South Florida car business, Dave Williamson decided he liked making his customers smile, but LOVED making them laugh.
Since then, he has excelled in almost every domestic Comedy Festival, making the finals or "Best of The Fest" in the World Series of Comedy, Boston Comedy Festival, San Francisco Comedy Competition, Big Sky Comedy Festival, the SLO Comedy Festival, and several others.
Shortly after being named “Best Comedian in Miami” by the Miami New Times, Dave packed up his family in a 25 foot travel trailer. They traveled with him while he performed all over North America, eventually settling in Los Angeles after 18 months of touring. This trip was documented in a series of shorts by Nickelodeon.
Dave tours heavily headlining his own shows. As a support act for Bert Kreischer, he has gotten to perform at the historic Greek Theater, The Grand Ol' Opry, and Red Rocks. His second album, “Trying My Hardest” was just released by Stand Up! Records and reached #1 in the iTunes Charts for Comedy. Dave will remind you of that one Dad who holds court over a hot grill with a cold beer every Football Sunday. He is obsessed with BBQ, and hosts his own podcast called “Meat Dave”. He also co-hosts a comedy podcast with fellow waterman, comedian, and friend Forrest Shaw.
Hosted by Tom Dustin (Comedy Central, Winner of the Great Canadian Laugh-Off), Comedy Key West presents Dave Williamson, who will be performing with Key West local comedians.
Please note:
If you are purchasing Booth Seats, 1 Booth = 2 tickets for 2 people. Please do not purchase (2) Booths if you are coming with 2 people. We cannot refund erroneous additional booth purchases the night of the show.
Due to the adult content, themes, and language of our shows, we have an age requirement of 16 years old.
Showtime at 8:30 PM. Doors at 7:30 PM.
Tickets purchased in advance will ensure that groups can sit together. Please let us know in advance if you will be joining another party.
We ask that you please keep all conversations to a minimum during the show. It's a small room, and even whispering can be heard by the performers and people around you. If this seems like a no-brainer, it's because you are sober. After a drink or two, it sometimes seems less obvious!
